NHTSA Announces Multiple RV Recalls Affecting Forest River, Alliance, Jayco, Ford, and More

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a comprehensive list of new recalls impacting several major RV and motorhome manufacturers.

History Behind the Recall

The recalls, which involve safety concerns ranging from faulty placards to high-voltage battery risks, affect a wide range of fifth wheels, travel trailers, and motorhomes from Forest River, Alliance RV, Jayco, and Ford Motor Company. Each manufacturer will notify dealers and affected owners, with all repairs to be conducted free of charge.

Which Models Are Affected

Alliance RV is recalling 152 2025 Avenue 23ML travel trailers due to incorrect Unloaded Vehicle Weight (UVW) and Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) placard information.

Forest River is recalling:

  • 23 2025 Coachmen Brookstone BKF398MBL fifth wheels and
  • 27 Coachmen Catalina BCAT154RBX travel trailers due to improper wastewater ventilation.
  • 4,270 2024–2025 Coachmen Catalina, Forest River Aurora, Cascade, Cedar Creek, Cherokee, Sandpiper, Sierra, and other models over removable step assemblies that may detach.

Ford is recalling:

  • 457 2024–2025 E-Transit Chassis Cab vehicles due to high voltage battery tray damage, which could lead to fire.
  • 4,625 2022–2023 Transit vehicles due to a rearview camera display issue from a prior incomplete recall fix.

Jayco is recalling:

  • 34 2025–2026 Entegra Aspire, Anthem, and Cornerstone motorhomes due to a fuel filter housing risk that could lead to leaks.

What Owners Need to Do Next

Affected RV and motorhome owners are encouraged to contact their respective manufacturers or dealerships. Notification letters are being mailed throughout May 2025. All repair work will be provided at no cost. For safety, owners of Ford E-Transit models are urged to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall service is completed.

How RV Owners Can Take Back Control

While this recall has been communicated to owners, many continue to be unhappy with the solutions provided by automakers. These problems have the potential to escalate into further action, underlining the importance of protecting consumer rights.
