Chrysler is recalling over 250,000 Pacifica and Voyager minivans in the U.S. due to faulty side curtain airbags that could increase the risk of injury in a crash.
History Behind the Recall
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) has issued a safety recall for 250,651 minivans, including 2022–2025 model year Pacifica and Voyager vehicles. The issue stems from improperly sealed seams in the side curtain airbags, which may fail to retain sufficient pressure during a crash. This can result in the airbags not deploying effectively, increasing the risk of ejection and serious injury.
The airbags may also fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 226, which is designed to ensure ejection mitigation in side impacts.
Chrysler stated it is not currently aware of any injuries or crashes tied to this issue.
Which Vehicles Are Affected
The recall includes the following models sold in the United States:
- 2022–2025 Chrysler Pacifica
- 2022–2025 Chrysler Voyager
All affected vehicles are equipped with side curtain airbags that may lose pressure due to seam defects.
What Owners Need to Do Next
Chrysler will begin notifying owners in two waves: an interim letter will be sent by June 30, 2025, and a second letter will follow once the final repair is available.
In the meantime, Chrysler is offering free inspections and replacements of the affected side curtain airbags. Owners are urged to contact their dealership or Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403 and reference recall numbers 06C, 54C, or 55C.
To check if your vehicle is affected, visit the NHTSA recall website at nhtsa.gov/recalls and enter your VIN.
How Chrysler Drivers Can Take Back Control
While this recall has been communicated to owners, many continue to be unhappy with the solutions provided by automakers. These problems have the potential to escalate into further action, underlining the importance of protecting consumer rights.
